Don't Drink And Drive |
||
|
Dear Residents,
Give yourself extra time – Don’t drink and drive
As England take on Norway tonight in the FIFA World Cup quarter finals, we are calling for everyone to stay safe and drink responsibly.
Are you planning to have a few drinks while watching the game? Remember, you could still be over the limit the next morning.
Alcohol stays in your system until the next morning. Even after sleep, shower, and caffeine, you may be over the limit without realising.
Driving under the influence risks arrest, a criminal record, and serious penalties. It also puts you and others in real danger. Don’t risk your licence, your job or somebody's life.
Give yourself extra time and plan your journey home and your journey the next morning.
Our Road Harm Prevention Team and Road Crime Units are on the roads 24/7. You can expect to see more stop sites and roadside breathalysing during the tournament as we crack down on the fatal four offences: drink/drug driving, driving while using a mobile phone, driving without wearing a seatbelt and speeding. For recent results, follow our @TrafficWMP social pages.
